Electric air compressors

An air compressor is a key tool in any workshop, garage or warehouse where you work with pneumatic tools, inflation guns, blowers or painting accessories. Choosing the correct model depends on the type of use, the frequency with which you will work and the space available to install the equipment. At Garland we offer electric compressors within its Machinery Garage range, with different configurations to adapt to advanced domestic uses and small workshops.

Compressors are part of Garland's machinery catalogue, alongside generators for workshop and power-supply tasks.

What is an air compressor used for in the workshop?

Electric compressors power pneumatic tools such as impact wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, inflation and blow guns, staplers, nailers, and paint guns. They are also useful for cleaning parts with pressurized air, inflating car, motorcycle and bicycle tires and for general maintenance tasks where compressed air is needed on demand.

The size of the tank and the power of the motor determine the autonomy and capacity for continuous use. The more demanding the tool, the greater the air generation capacity it should be to avoid frequent stops while the compressor recovers pressure.

Models Murdock of Garland

The GARLAND MURDOCK 402 PME-V25 is a wall-mountable electric compressor, with a 900 W motor. The wall installation frees up space in the workshop and leaves the equipment stored away, an advantage in small garages where every square meter of floor counts.

The GARLAND MURDOCK 317 PHE-V25 is a dual-tank electric compressor with an 850W motor. The dual-tank configuration offers more air reserve for jobs where sustained flow is needed without waiting for the compressor to reload.

Both models are aimed at advanced private users, DIY enthusiasts and light workshops. For light construction work outside the workshop, Garland complements the offer with earth compactors.

Installation and maintenance

The installation of an electric compressor is straightforward. The wall model requires a firm anchor on a sturdy partition, with free space around the body for the motor to dissipate heat. The double tank model is placed on the ground, on a stable and level surface.

Regular maintenance includes draining condensate from the tank at the end of each day of use, cleaning the air intake filter periodically, and checking connections for air leaks. The exact intervals appear in the technical documentation for each compressor.

Frequently asked questions about Garland compressors

Which compressor to choose according to the type of use?

For specific uses such as inflating tires or working with light pneumatic tools, a wall compressor like the Murdock 402 does the trick without taking up space. For more continuous work or where you want to have a greater air reserve, the double tank model Murdock 317 offers more autonomy between starts.

How much pressure does an inflation gun need?

Most inflation guns and pneumatic tools common in the workshop work at pressures between 6 and 8 bar. It is advisable to consult the technical sheet of each accessory to confirm the optimal range and not exceed the maximum recommended pressure.

Do you need a compressor with a special electrical outlet?

Domestic electric compressors such as the Murdock work with a standard home network, without requiring three-phase outlets. It is advisable to check the electrical panel and not share a line with other high-consumption equipment during use.

For related equipment, you can also review KEEPER 20V battery machines and high-pressure washers.
